OVERVIEW Lipparini
MINIMUM STAY 3 NIGHTS
Located within the historic Venetian palace the Ca’nova, found right at the mouth of the Grand Canal and within a five-minute walk of Saint Mark’s Square, this spacious and refined one-bedroom apartment was completely restored and redecorated in spring 2019.
Lipparini is on the palazzo’s first floor, the so-called Piano Nobile which traditionally has the most elegant rooms. True to its origins the apartment has beautiful parquet flooring and particularly high ceilings, its tall windows casting in wonderful light from the quiet and sunny square it faces.
The living room and bedroom are of the same size and have been decorated under the personal supervision of Trust&Travel’s founder Katharina Allès Trauttmandorff, successfully marrying classic Italian elegance with modern appeal. The living and dining room has a comfortable sitting area, dining table for 6 and an antique divan that can be turned into a third bed. The bedroom has a super-king size bed, with a magical Venetian style canopy, a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with a large shower.
There is a second guest WC in the entry and a large well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast table where you can enjoy your freshly delivered morning croissant or prepare meals. All guests of the palazzo have access to a lovely shared terrace found on the 5th floor.
Lipparini can be linked through an internal staircase to the apartment Hayez which lies one floor above.

Ca’nova… This name, in the dialectal Italian of Venice, is a contraction of Casa Nova, new house. And indeed, the Ca’nova historical Palazzo has been for a great part renovated and given a new lease on life.
We were extremely happy and flattered, at Trust&Travel, when the owners of this outstanding residence chose to leave in our care the refurbishing and promotion of three of its spacious apartments.
Redecorated in a pure, classic style with a contemporary twist and a colour palette inspired by 17th and 18th century paintings of Venice, these three apartments are exceptionally well located: at the mouth of Venice’s Grand Canal, opposite the Santa Maria della Salute basilica and the Punta della Dogana museum – where the Pinault contemporary art collection can be seen, – and within a stone’s throw of the glorious Piazza San Marco.
The origins of the Ca’nova Palazzo date back to the 12th century, when the Barozzi family built the Ca’Barozzi, a crenellated building which had a porch, an open gallery and two large square towers. In the 17th century, the medieval structure was remodelled into a Renaissance palazzo by architect Bartolomeo Manopola.
In the early 19th century, the Treves family, barons of Bonfili, acquired the residence from the Emo family, and asked Giuseppe Borsato – an Italian painter who, among other things, decorated the Teatro La Fenice – to revamp and enhance their new property. Some of the furniture we used for the decoration was designed by Borsato for the Palazzo in 1826.
The Treves family vividly exemplifies the emancipation of the local Jewish community and its full integration into the Italian society of the 19th century.
Venice, not only famous for its great monuments and bewitching atmosphere, but also for its numerous and colourful festivals, celebrations, revelry… The acclaimed art and architecture Biennale, the international Film Festival, the Regata Storica and the Vogalonga rowing races, the sparkling Festa del Redentore, the world-famous Carnival of Venice… In this respect, locals and visitors are spoilt for choice all year long!

GUEST REVIEWS, Lipparini, Palazzo Ca'nova
I wanted to tell you that we had a memorable stay in Venice. The flat was superb, the weather was just right, not to mention the life, the museums, the restaurants,...
We will definitely come back.

Now that we are back from Venice I wanted to get in touch with you and thank you.
Everything was really lovely. The apartment was perfect. The care, the equipment and the location were wonderful. We really enjoyed the days.
The two tours with the guide Fiona you suggested were exciting and very entertaining, despite the heat ?.
We went to Al Covo twice for dinner and were very impressed with it.
The evening at the Trattoria Anzolo Raffaele was wonderful, the light on the small square was lovely and the archaic little square itself is like pure Italy, the food too!
Thank you again for all your tips and we'd love to come back ?.
